Abbott named SAC Athletic Director of the year

Athletic Director Jim Abbott has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference athletic director of the year. Abbott is the conference's nominee for 2008-09 NAIA athletic director of the year. Abbott earned this award for the second year in a row. OCU recently took the SAC Cup for athletic excellence within the conference for the ninth time in 10 years.

Graduate wins 2009-10 award
An OCU graduate student has been selected to receive an Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants' Educational Foundation scholarship for the 2009- 2010 school year. Meredith Warren, of Norman, Okla., was awarded the $510 Ruth Ann Fairbairn scholarship, named for a dedicated CPA devoted to furthering female professionals.… Post the First Comment

Women's golf team wins fifth consecutive championship

Senior Sydney Cox captured the NAIA individual women's golf championship, while Senior Ashley Sholer took runner-up honors as OCU finished with its fifth consecutive team championship May 15, at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rapid City S.D. Cox finished three strokes ahead of Sholer. The top-ranked Stars shot 302-311-302-313-1,228 to end 33 shots ahead of Bethel (Ind.).… Post the First Comment
